An amount of Rs.30 lakhs was given to Oil' National Park and Sanctuary as project preparation facility advance. The amount was provided to complete the project design, to finance village eco-development activities (Establishing credibility), organising workshops, study tours, special tours etc. Out of the total fund of Rs 30 lakhs an amount of Rs 7.98 lakhs was spent during the year 1995-96 and an amount of Rs.21.90 lakhs was utilized during the year 1996-97.

Since the signing of the project was delayed, the works could not be carried out as planned. Though a number of meetings were organised of the villagers and maldharies and credibility works were also undertaken yet the expected out put could not be achieved. After the signing of the project in December-96 the implementation was speeded up and progress could be made.
