This scheme is under implementation in Bharuch, kheda, Ahmedabad and Meshana districts. Fruit tree supplies by the Forest Department are planted by farmers/landless labourers. Protection and maintenance is carried out by the beneficiary who gets 100% benefit from fruits and 50% of the profit generated at final felling of trees.

Under social forestry, Forest Department has made consistent efforts to bridge the gap between demand and supply of firewood, small timber, grass etc. Apart from carrying out plantations and distribution of seedling in order to increase the momentum of tree planting, Forest Department carries out several other activities like constructing Van - kutirs at strategic places on high ways and other roads, establishing Van-Chetana-Kendras for dissipating information related to forestry and carrying out awareness and motivation programmes through shibirs.
